Region 2000 offers an abundance of courts open to the public free of charge at parks and schools. Private clubs offer still more courts, both indoor and outdoor.
Each June, the Central Virginia Invitational Tennis Tournament is held at Oakwood Country Club in Lynchburg. College tennis players throughout the Southeast and beyond come to Central Virginia for this event.
Area health clubs maintain numerous racquetball courts.
