REGION 2000 LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL'S 2012 LEGISLATIVE AGENDA: The Local Government Council approved the attached Legislative Agenda at the October 20, 2011 meeting.

HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE PROCESS: Region 2000 is currently updating the Hazard Mitigaiton Plan for the Region. The Hazard Mitigation Plan is a tool used to increase the emphasis on pre-disaster planning and funding. Local governments are required to adopt FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plans in order to qualify for pre and post disaster federal hazard mitigation funding.
