Virginia Workforce Development Initiatives
Virginia Economic Development Partnership/ Department of Business Assistance
More than a decade ago, the Virginia General Assembly created the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to better serve those seeking a prime business location. The Partnership consists of several divisions that provide the resources businesses need to make informed location decisions efficiently:
About the Virginia Department of Business Assistance
The Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA) Workforce Services Division develops workforce training programs for new and expanding Virginia businesses. Many qualifying companies have located in Virginia and successfully used the program to pre-train staff so they were up and running as soon as their facility was complete.
The Workforce Services division of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance provides customized recruiting and training services to companies that are creating new jobs in the state. Workforce Services offers consulting services, organizational development support, electronic media services, and funding. With strong support from the Governor and the General Assembly, Workforce Services' programs are completely state-funded, demonstrating Virginia's commitment to fostering business growth.
If a firm is hiring substantial numbers of new employees, chances are there’s a VDBA program available to assist. The VDBA has worked in Region 2000 for over 30 years helping new and expanding businesses recruit and train thousands of new employees.
